Sickness, Away!

I'm the first person to admit that I love the cooler weather, but I'm about ready for things to start warming up this year. Or should I stay, I'm ready for the weather to stay the same, whether cold or warm. This year, we have had 2 "snow" days, on which there wasn't really any snow, 1 "real" snow day (sleet, anyway) where we did have to go to school, and 30 degree weather followed by 80 degree weather, and vice versa, many times.

With all of these weather changes, our allergies have been crazy, and we have just spent the last 2 weeks passing around some sort of a virus in our family. I am currently home with Elise, who is running a 102 degree fever (her second fever since birth). Evan was home last week with a fever of 102, and Aubrie missed two days this week with a fever of 100.7. I do not want to complain too much, because it seems to only be a fever and lethargy that accompany this virus; I will take that over a stomach bug any day!

Hopefully our family is almost out of the woods. I'm hoping that the kids are immune to it now that they've had it once, and that we don't start the cycle all over again. Now to just make sure that Chris and I don't catch anything...

Cookies by Kim

I know I'm pretty crazy, y'all, there's no need to mention it. I'm known for taking on more than I can chew, but still trying to do it all, and do it well (even if it kills me!). Nothing more can be said about my latest venture.

Back at Christmastime (which I still need to post pictures from!), Chris and I decided that I would put a post on Facebook offering people the chance to purchase Christmas cookies for Santa. In my mind, I would take orders during the week, bake all weekend, and have cookies ready for Christmas Eve when Santa would arrive. Everyone would be happy, and I'd have some extra money, which is always nice. :) Little did I know how big it was going to get!

I made almost 30 dozen cookies during that 2 week time span! Since then I have come up with a logo, Facebook page, and had lots of orders to keep me busy! I made almost 15 dozen cookies in January alone, and have another 9 to make this weekend just for Valentine's Day! I've got parties booked up until June already, too!

I'll let you all in on a little secret... I'm secretly hoping that this will take off and I'll be able to use it to somehow spend more time with my family. Maybe it will allow me to take a half-time music position in Klein, or stay home all-together (have I mentioned how expensive childcare is???????) with cookie money supplementing our savings account.

I know that God has a perfect plan for my life, and He hasn't led me astray so far, so I guess I'll just have to trust that He led me down this path at this time in my life for a reason. Now it's my job to work as hard as I can and see where it takes me!

Here are just some of what I've done in the past month and a half.

Elise Found Her Foot!

I know that I haven't been keeping up with milestones for Elise like I did with the other two, but life has just gotten so out of control busy!

At 4.5 months old, Elise has found her foot! She's awfully close to rolling over from her back to front, too, which I must say seems too soon! What is it with my kids wanting to grow up so fast... One kid losing teeth, one kid getting them, one in kindergarten, one just born. Crazy how fast it goes by.

First Lost Tooth

If it wasn't official before, it now is. My boy is growing up. Way. Too. Fast.

Evan came to us about 2 weeks ago saying that he couldn't eat dinner that night because his tooth sort of hurt. I had actually just been talking to a coworker that very day about when I thought he would have his first loose tooth. I should have knocked on wood, I guess. :)

Anyway, when he said that I thought I would just check it out, and what'dya know, but the bottom front right tooth is loose! He's actually really being good with it, not playing with it with his tongue and all. I'm guessing in about 2 weeks it will actually fall out. Brushing teeth is a nightmare, though!

I can't believe my big boy is so big.
Love you, Evan.

excuse the boogers... :)

Update: Evan lost his tooth while we were away at TMEA, on Aubrie's 4th birthday! While Chris and I were waiting to eat dinner in San Antonio, I got a text from my Mom saying that he had lost the tooth while in the bath. My Mom said that she saw something fly across the bathtub, and then heard Evan say, "I lost my tooth! I lost my tooth!" After a few frantic minutes of searching for the tooth and hoping that it hadn't gone down the drain, they found it on the bath mat outside of the tub. We tried to talk Evan into writing a note to the tooth fairy asking her to wait to take the tooth until his parents were back in town, but he quickly said no to that idea. The Tooth Fairy brought him $3 for his tooth! As soon as we returned, he promptly informed us that he had 2 more loose teeth, as well! He's definitely growing too fast... Although, I have to admit that I can't wait to see him with all of those gaps!
